There Is Only Now, the sixth album from legendary hip-hop group Souls of Mischief, is a cinematic crime tale of love, loss, and revenge. A conceptual collaboration with producer Adrian Younge and the first release on his freshly-launched Linear Labs Records label, the album serves as a bookend to two decades of music since the release of the group’s seminal debut album, ‘93 Til Infinity.
Set in 1994, There Is Only Now draws its inspiration from a near-fatal shooting involving group members A+, Opio, Tajai, and Phesto as they were reaching new levels of success early in their careers. Struggling with the volatile combination of newfound fame and the proliferation of gun violence in their native Oakland, the crew parlays the energy from the incident to weave a new tale altogether. As complex as the arrangements and rhymes, the narrative that unfolds is one of unrequited love that spins into lives of the Souls crew. After Tajai is kidnapped, we’re led through a labyrinth of anecdotes and insights into the love triangle of Womack, the thugged out villain; Stoney, herb on the come up; and Miriam, the object of their affections

NEW YORK- Following the killing of unarmed young black teen, Mike Brown at the hands of Officer Darren Wilson, days of protesting have unfolded in Ferguson, MO, and through out the nation. The Hip Hop duo, Rebel Diaz, DJ Charlie Hustle and members of The RDACBX drove 17 hours from New York to Ferguson on Thursday, August 14th, 2014 to express solidarity with the Brown family and the Ferguson community. As a result of their visit, Rebel Diaz decided to shift the focus of their previously scheduled concert at the legendary BB King’s Blues Club, and instead will host The Freedom Ride: NYC to Ferguson fundraising concert at BB King’s Blues Club, located at 237 West 42 St, New York, NY 10036. The proceeds from this concert will serve to mobilize youth and young adults from New York City to Ferguson, MO in support of the local organizing taking place in demand of justice for Mike Brown. The doors will open at 7:00pm, and the show starts at 9:00pm.
The line -up of performances include: Rebel Diaz with the band, Dirty Delorean, The ReMINDers, YC The Cynic, DJ Charlie Hustle and surprise guests. Hosted by Flaco Navaja

Speed of Sound Entertainment Presents DIRTY HEARTS - TRAILER

Dirty Hearts is a story that follows the changes a community undergoes when its most beloved resident suddenly falls victim to an untimely death.
An honest tale of Angst, Regret and Clarity, Dirty Hearts is set within the borders of Brooklyn’s close knit Panamanian-American community found most most densely in the neighborhoods of Flatbush and Crown Heights.
The outsider gets a rare peek into the hearts of a forgotten generation and neighborhood; learning the answers to: “How does this all feel?” and “What happens when the bad guy does the right thing?”.
Coming this fall.
